            The joy of Euro Bistro is that it is a serious restaurant that loves to play. The spacious and airy dining room is painted in bright shocks of orange and blue; the walls are adorned with whimsical abstract paintings, quite a few very good ones by children. Chef-owner Raimund Stieger, a longtime favorite in area restaurant circles, comes out with his pots and pants blazing. His cooking extends beyond superb European bistro staples in Austria and Germany, venturing into exciting Italian, Thai and other Asian dishes. There is a dizzying array of specials for spring. Chilean Sea Bass with light wine sauce and accompanied by potato pancakes. Pork Goulash is wonderfully moist in a Paprika sauce. Among the fanciful pizzas, the Austrian Pizza, with rich, creamy potatoes, bacon, onions, sausage, cheese and herbs is particularly outstanding. For dessert, the Sinful Chocolate (flourless dark chocolate cake with white chocolate mousse) is just that incredibly sinful. And old European favorites like Apple Strudel served with ice cream shows Stieger’s way with the classics. Ask about special dinners, where Stieger really puts out all the stops.
